Iloilo II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ILECO II) was established on October 18, 1975 as the 69th electric cooperative by virtue of Republic Act No. 6038 or known as the National Electrification Administration Act and repealed by Presidential Decree No. 269 or known as the National Electrification Decree
ILECO II started its first energization at the Municipality of Zarraga in 1977.
It has 14 municipalities and one (1) component city under its coverage area. ILECO II’s commendable performance paved the way for its Category A+ Classification in 2005. The said classification was maintained by the coop for seven consecutive years
In 2012, ILECO II became one of the top 50 ECs with a rating of AAA (Triple A) based on the Performance Assessment using the Key Performance Standards (KPS) of the NEA. The Coop was then re-classified as “Mega-Large” Coop using the 3-Year Average Volume of Sales, Connection and Kilometer of Lines Connected. ILECO II became a Consistent Awardee of AAA (Triple A) EC and received Best Region Award and Citation for Task Force Kapatid Typhoon Nina in the year 2017.
In 2019, ILECO II received the Golden Dagitab Award for garnering 100-Point Score in the 2018 Performance Assessment for EC.
Also, it bagged several awards from the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA), namely:
1. Ace of ECs Award;
2. Model Member-EC Award;
3. MCO Champion Award;
4. Paramount Achievement Award; and
5. Five Years of Powerhouse Excellence Award
In December 2020, in recognition of the Coop’s exemplary performance as a Triple A “AAA” Category EC for 2019 and in its pursuit of total electrification and sustainable rural development for the past five (5) years notwithstanding all the difficulties confronting rural electrification movement, ILECO II was awarded by PHILRECA as Paramount Achievement and Hall of Famer Awardee
Also, various citations were given to ILECO II, namely:
1. Circle of Excellence Award;
2. Extra Mile Award;
3. Prompt Payor Award;
4. Iron Pillar Award;
5. Strength in Numbers Award;
6. Strong Commitment to Brotherhood Award; and
7. Constant Contributor Award
Awards received are the symbol of ILECO II’s relentless efforts and services to the Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) and in intensifying the rural electrification movement in line with the mandate of the National Electrification Administration (NEA).
At present, ILECO II has been lighting up homes and establishments of its MCOs for 45 years now. As of February 2021, it serves 141,223 members with a total of 142,354 connections.
Moreover, ILECO II unceasingly and untiringly ensures that its daily operation and annual activities are regularly, efficiently and effectively conducted. Always working to exceed its past performance to attain its goal, “to be a leading and excellent electric distribution utility in Western Visayas by 2027.”
